Cookie Policy

Version 1.0.1 · Effective 2026-05-24

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar local-storage mechanisms Haircut Right uses, what each one does, and how you can control them. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Cookies let a site recognise you between page loads — for example, to keep you signed in or to remember your language. Similar technologies (local storage, session storage) work the same way for the purposes of this policy.

2. Cookies we use

We only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the Service to work. We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this page and ask for your consent before any non-essential cookie is set.

NamePurposeTypeDuration
access_tokenKeeps you signed in (short-lived)Strictly necessary15 minutes
refresh_tokenRenews your sign-in automatically without re-typing your passwordStrictly necessary30 days
haircut-themeRemembers your light/dark preferenceStrictly necessary1 year

The two authentication cookies are httpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax. They cannot be read by client-side JavaScript.

3. Consent

Strictly-necessary cookies do not require consent under EU law because they are required for the Service to function. By using the Service, you accept that these cookies are set.

If we add any non-essential cookies in the future (for example, analytics), we will display a consent banner allowing you to accept, reject, or customise the categories. Strictly-necessary cookies will continue to work regardless of your choice.

4. How to control cookies

You can delete cookies or block them entirely through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Blocking the strictly-necessary cookies will sign you out and prevent you from using authenticated features.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this page when our cookie use changes. The version and effectiveDate at the top reflect the current version.

6. Contact
